Hysteresis threshold states

ThresholdReed supports AI-assisted project work on Windows through a compatible model connection. Review a hysteresis update in conversation, focusing on retained state inside the band and deliberate behavior at each threshold.

Illustrative workspace
  1. Project

Preserve the state strictly between the thresholds and test equality at each boundary, rejecting reversed thresholds, non-finite numbers and non-Boolean states.

  2. Review before applying

Compare actual behavior with the expected result. If a check fails, investigate it before applying more changes.

  3. Connection

Base URL, credentials and a reachable server.

Review a sequence of decisions, not just one output

ThresholdReed is a Windows AI coding workspace for investigating software whose next result depends on its previous state. Select your project folder and describe an unwanted transition. Ask the connected assistant to locate the state owner and explain how updates reach it. That gives a proposed fix a clear relationship to the behavior you observe across a sequence of inputs.

A task based on hysteresis.py could examine why a status repeatedly switches near a threshold. Supply the intended low and high boundaries, an initial state and a short sequence that reproduces the issue. Use the example to discuss your project's transition contract, including rejected values. The value of the workspace is in reviewing this reasoning with the code, rather than presenting the sample as a monitoring feature already installed.

An unrestricted AI model can be selected from a supported OpenAI-compatible or Anthropic service that offers one. Its server determines context and tool availability, and provider restrictions may still apply. Once the connection is configured, review each proposed edit and run sequence-based checks in the project. Include transitions in both directions and values between boundaries. A single correct output cannot establish that the revised state machine behaves correctly over time.

Questions for stateful logic changes

Why include the initial state in a bug report?

The same input may legitimately produce different results depending on prior state. Specify where the sequence starts and the expected transitions. Without that information, the assistant may interpret a correct state-preserving branch as the defect.

Which boundary values are useful to test?

Include values exactly at both thresholds, values just inside the intermediate region and a sequence crossing each boundary. State the expected result after every sample. This checks both the comparisons and the persistence of the preceding state.

Should invalid thresholds be corrected automatically?

Only if your contract explicitly calls for normalization. Otherwise, a clear rejection may be preferable. Ask how the caller handles invalid configuration and inspect that path before accepting code that swaps or silently changes supplied limits.

Does this software monitor live signals for me?

The workflow described here is for developing and reviewing your project's logic. A live data source, scheduling and operational monitoring require their own implementation. Test those integrations separately from the small transition helper used in the example.
